Other Great Things To Do While You're Here!

We think the Far South Coast of NSW is truly one of the most spectacular places to be. We love the place, and not just because of the lovely views of Twofold Bay from our perfect spot here at Quarantine Bay Beach Cottages!

When you come and stay with us, we hope you take the chance to get out and explore.

There are so many other terrific things to do, see, eat and discover – all within just a few miles of here.

We can arrange day tours, fishing boat charters, whale-watching cruises, and scenic cruises around Twofold Bay.

You’re very close to the best seafood on the South Coast, and several restaurants, pubs and clubs. Some restaurants and clubs have a courtesy bus to pick you, and we can arrange it for you.

Our National Parks and State Forests are famous for their unspoilt beauty and tranquility. Get away from it all deep in the forest, or take advantage of the many marked walking tracks to some of the most interesting and historic sights around Eden.

The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre – fascinating and educational marine displays and live exhibits. Great for kids and families.

Davidson Whaling Station – the iconic remnants of Eden’s whaling past, located at the picturesque Kiah Inlet south of Eden.

Boyds Tower – once used by whalers to spot passing Humpbacks, this remarkable sandstone structure is now one of the area’s most famous historical landmarks.

Green Cape Lighthouse – Australian Geographic called it one of the best whale-watching spots in the country. It’s also a beautiful place with a haunting history, including the shipwreck of the Ly-ee Moon, in which 71 passengers were drowned. Their tombstones give the cape a powerful and somber ambience.

Eden Fishermen’s Recreation Club and the Eden Country Club – a variety of dining options, live entertainment, golf and bowls, plus happy hours, bingo and raffles.

And here’s a few of our other favourite local attractions…

Eden Killer Whale Museum

The story of Old Tom and his remarkable partnership with local whalers in Twofold Bay is a spectacular and magical story known the world over.

The Eden Killer Whale Museum overlooking the bay in Eden was originally built to house Tom’s skeleton, after his death in 1930. The magnificent Tom and his story is the museum’s centrepiece, but it is a fascinating place for anyone interested in the history of the area.

(In short, you can’t really come to Eden and not go to the Killer Whale Museum. Just sayin’.)

The Bundian Way

The Bundian Way is an ancient Aboriginal walking route from the high country in Kosciuszko to the coast near Eden. It was used for thousands of years by Aboriginal communities, and later by the region’s first European settlers.

Quarantine Bay Beach Cottages connects you to the first completed section of the Bundian Way, 1.9km from Quarantine Bay to Cocora Beach.

It’s a wonderful walk, rich in the history of our local Aboriginal people, and with magnificent views of Twofold Bay.
